Since the mid 1990’s AK strains have been increasingly popular. Our AK-48 is one of the strongest early finishing strains available anywhere. AK-48 produces hard buds with an exceptional penetrating aroma. AK-48 is an indica/sativa hybrid yet it retains most of its sativa qualities in its high. AK-48 finishes in as early as 48 days if conditions are perfect.
Aurora Indica is an f1 hybrid of Afghan and Northern Lights. Aurora Indica stays short and produces heavy colas. This plant has exceptional resin production and the buds are dense. Aurora produces a deep, near black hash, aroma and a heavy indica buzz. This strain is probably our most potent indica.
Big Bud is one of the oldest commercial strains. Our Big Bud is bred for maximum yield without too much compromise on quality. The branches may become so heavy with flowers that they may need to be tied up. Big Bud has some Skunk characteristics and a fairly long lasting high.
Blue Mystic was especially selected for its soft blue hues that show up about mid way into flowering. Blue Mystic grows very similar to Northern Lights with all of its desirable qualities with an added colorful appearance and light berry after taste when smoked. Blue Mystic has a neutral smell in the grow room compared to many other strains.
Bubblelicious was developed in the Midwest, U.S.A. then brought to Holland in the 90’s and further refined. Bubblelicious grows vigorously and finishes flowering in about 8 weeks. Bubblelicious is highly resinous and extra sweet. Certain individuals actually display that distinct pink chewing gum scent and flavor.
Northern Bright is a hybrid of Northern Light and Haze. Northern bright produces relatively small leaves and long stretchy buds. The smoke is heavy and the odour is a little bit sour. Northern Bright produces an intense up buzz that is optically pleasing. This strain takes a little longer to finish but is well worth it.
Chrystal is a White Widow re-back-crossed with Northern Lights. Chrystal’s buds are big and sticky with an almost kerosene like aroma and a quick hitting high. A F1 hybrid, Chrystal produces outstanding yields of top quality (and priced) grass. Much easier to manicure than White Widow. Chrystal is a first place winner of the Dutch Highlife Cup, 2002.
One of our new production skunks, this feminized selection starts slowly then comes on strong with more rapid growth creating big buds. Venus has nice large leaves and a curious aroma. Venus is a new generation Ganja with good yields and a strong high.
Genetics for this strain come from the Hindu Kush mountain region near the village district of Chitral. Citral produces a mellow herbal taste, very good yield and hard buds. For larger yeilds, grow relatively tall before changing the photo period. The aroma from the buds is fresh, almost like fabric softener. The buzz is an interesting cerebral experience despite its indica heritage.
Early Bud is a new and improved version of Early Girl delivering a smoother smoke and strong high. Early Bud is one of the earlier maturing selections in our outdoor collection. Early Bud has a slightly spicy fresh taste and a very nice high. This plant can turn purplish during late maturity and is a good selection where space is limited.
Early Special is our earliest flowerer. Its genetics contain Siberian Ruderalis. Some individuals start flowering with 24 hours of light! Early Special is a strong yielder with a low-moderate T.H.C. level. It has a smooth semi fruity taste which can be enhanced under good growing and curing conditions. Early Special has vigorous flowering in good conditions and is disease resistant. This strain is very suitable for beginners.
Four-way consists of ¼ indica, ¼ ruderalis, ¼ sativa and ¼ Skunk#1. Four-way usually takes on an indica appearance, rather short and bushy with medium large leaves. This mix produces a relatively mild smoke and has great all-around taste. Four-way works well with most growing systems and is easy to clone.
Four-way is highly resistant to most diseases and is a good producer.
The roots of our Haze begin in the foothills of the Bay Area, California in the 1970’s. It is a stable magic mix of Columbian, Mexican, Thai and Jamaican. Haze has fluffy buds, a very long flowering period and delivers an intense rushing high. Haze has a complex aroma that almost smells like a plant other than cannabis. Haze is a strain that could have many medical applications.
Holland’s Hope is a stable mix of Afghan and an early Skunk. Holland’s Hope is an ideal plant for the outdoor grower cultivating in cool climates and where short summers may limit the growing season. This is a pest and mold resistant strain that can reach 2 meters in height with promising yields. Holland’s Hope has a sweet flavour and is moderate in strength.
With Ice we have successfully attempted to bring quality and quantity together. Ice has ancestors of Afghani, a very special Skunk, Northern Light, and Shiva. An intense selection process of thousands of plants was used in finding this special mix. Ice flowers are richly covered in trychomes and have a dense consistency. Buds form along main branches and there is a high flower to leaf ratio. Fastastic for hydro and soil applications. The stone is heavy and the aroma is almost like fuel. Ice is a winner of the 1998 Cannabis Cup.

This is a F1 hybrid of our famous Master Kush and the original KC33 from master breeder K.C. Brains. This selection is bred for outdoor cultivation, but has great greenhouse and indoor results as well. KC33 x Master Kush is hearty, mold resistant, and easy to clone. The smoke is smooth, with a rich herbal flavour. Though moderate in strength, KC 33 x Master Kush has a long lasting buzz.
Papaya is a fast growing, disease resistant, and usually early maturing strain. Papaya is a heavy, greasy indica staying low and dense, very suitable for sea of green gardens. Papaya has an exotic tropical aroma that reminds one of the scent of whiskey pipe tobacco. The buzz from our papaya is lethargic, almost narcotic.
Moroc x Afghan is truly a classic F1 hybrid of two of the tastiest hash producing strains known to man. The Moroccan seed stock comes from a Ketama hash plantation and has been inbred for 9 years. Yields are promising. Fantastic for small scale urban hash operations. Water hash from this strain has an exotic import flavour.
First called High-Rise, Master Kush was developed in one of the tall buildings of south Amsterdam. Instantly the coffeeshops fell in love with this special new tetraploid. Through popular demand, this Hindu Kush/ skunk hybrid was stabilized and marketed. It has been a classic ever since. A strong plant of medium height and bushiness, Master Kush is a heavy producer with soil, hydro, and has great greenhouse results. The earthy smell of Master Kush is strong and the smoke is smooth.
This plant is our original outdoor Sativa. Mixed Sativa produces tall females with loose buds. Can be planted close together due to its sparse branching and skinny nature. Low T.H.C. content and up sativa cannaboids make it a great smoke for novices. Mixed Sativa is easy to grow and is extremely mold resistant.
Northern Lights is highly adapted to indoor growing. Nearly all promising modern indoor strains contain NL genes. High flower to leaf ratio, compact buds, good yields and exceptional resin production are all characteristics displayed by this wonderful plant. Northern Lights is a most lucrative plant for the indoor grower. The smoke is full bodied yet somewhat neutral in flavour.
Northern Lights x Big Bud was developed with the grower and smoker in mind. Big Bud has outragouse yield but tends to be a bit weak for the heavy smoker. Crossing Big Bud with a very potent Northern lights has made a more potent bud with losing only a small percent of the yield. The smoke from Northern Lights x Big Bud is rich and deep and the taste is lightly skunky.
Northern Lights is crossed with our Haze to produce a heavier set plant. NL/Hz still reaches tall heights yet dense Northern Lights style form on the long stems. The inner bud leaves are a bright lime green. The smoke has that sweet-sour taste and produces a stony yet up high. This plant needs careful trimming indoor and patience, but the reward is worth the wait!
Pure Power Plant is a strong mostly sativa variety developed in the late 90’s from South African strains. The tremendous growth potential of this plant is a prime example of hybrid vigor. PPP is the latest trend among Dutch commercial growers because of its high yields of the highest priced buds. Pure Power Plant has a pleasant, almost pine, after taste and a powerful social buzz.
This strain is named after Shiva, Hindu god of transformation. Shiva has genetics from India giving it a pungent Eastern spicy aroma. Shiva is a bushy plant with good yield and quality. Shiva is vigorous and pest resistant making it a good choice for the less experienced grower. Shiva has an exotic flavour and produces a heavy stone.
Skunk Red Hair was developed in the early 1980’s when numerous red hairs were a sign of sweet tasting, quality bud. Skunk Red Hair is mellow in strength, not overpowering like some of the white strains developed currently. Skunk Red Hair grows tall and vigorous and has a super sweet flavour and a skunky odour. Flowers develop a distinctive blush when they mature. Yields can be very interesting.
Snow White is one of our highest quality selections from the “white” family. The fat pure indica father gives Snow White a denser statue than its close relative, White Widow. This F1 hybrid is a big yielder with dense sticky buds covered in trichomes. Well suited for hydro or similar systems. Great smooth taste and a powerful indica stone make this strain a nice Widow variation.
Super Skunk is a successful attempt to beef up the famous Skunk #1. This strain is one of the first to match the potency of the powerful import hashish in coffeeshops. Still famous for its potent flavour and strong high. Much easier to grow and manicure than the "white" strains. Yields can be very financially interesting. Also works well in greenhouse or shed operations.
Swazi is an original pure sativa strain from Swaziland. Swazi can grow up to 3m tall with huge 13 finger leaves and has long sticky buds. Swazi is moderate in strength and very suitable for light smokers. This strain produces an active buzz has a unique flavour similar to liquorice.
T44 is one of our top commercial strains. Top 44 is our fastest flowering variety which under ideal conditions can be ready in ~6 weeks. This strain stays low and does not branch to much making it ideal for confined gardens or sea of green farming. Top 44 is a strong easy to grow plant and a great selection for the first timer. Top 44 has also proven to be a great balcony producer. The smoke is deep and skunky with a long lasting buzz.
White Rhino is a powerful F1 hybrid of White Widow and a curiously strong North American indica strain. White Rhino could have medicinal applications because of its high T.H.C. content. The taste of this smoke is hashy and slightly harsh, a good bong smoke. The American father of the Rhino is more indica than the White Widow father, creating a denser and somewhat shorter plant. The buzz is stoney and comes on hard.
In the mid 1990’s a legend was born. White Widow almost instantly appeared on about every coffeeshop menu in Holland. This masterpiece has set the standard for the “White” strains. Our White Widow grows tall with delicate arms. Buds are moderately compact in order to contain the copious amounts of resin. Leaning on the sativa side, the buzz is powerful yet energetic and very social.
Kaya is a hearty strain bred for rougher climates or novice indoor growers. Leaning on the sativa side, Kaya grows big and tall yet finishes early. Kaya has a spicy flavour refreshingly different from Skunk and has a moderate T.H.C. level. She is pest resistant and can take the heat. Perfect for leaving somewhere with a g.p.s. and finding it again in fall. Kaya thrives in a greenhouse as well.
Medusa is the latest addition to our harem at Nirvana. Powerful Misty genes contribute to Medusa’s ability to turn people to stone. Firm light green buds have a deep musty aroma and a sugar cane after taste. Superior quality smoke makes up for modest yields. Medusa is an absolute must for connoisseurs.
Supergirl is a heavy new female skunk strain with great potential for the commercial grower. Supergirl is a dark green bushy plant that won’t get to tall. She produces hard and heavy buds that glisten with T.H.C. Supergirl offers a deep skunk flavour accompanied by a strong body buzz.
Wonder Woman is another new high volume production skunk. Fresh genetics make it possible to achieve over ½ kilo per square meter! Rock hard buds are easy to trim. The smoke has a classic rich skunk flavor accompanied by a fairly long lasting buzz.
Cannabis seeds history of Nirvana goes way back to the end of the 1980's. At that time Nirvana's founder was working at Amsterdam's most famous grow-shop, the legendary "Positronics", and it was the knowledge and inspiration that he received there that moved him to think about starting his own cannabis seeds company. Years were spent traveling, seeking out and collecting marijuana seeds from the finest strains. And more years went in experimentation, growing, cross breeding and developing the new cannabis strains from among which Nirvana selected the best to become their range of high quality hybrid marijuana seeds.
